When i tried to run it in 640x480p my resolution changes for a second and then switches back to normal.

I particularly dont like the modded reflections from this download, and if you dont like it also, just copy the original carcmn.fsh file back to the GamedataCarmodel folder, in the game directory.

There is also a widescreen parch in the internet that also fixes occasional game crashes in the Normandy track.
